Oscar Goes to India Finally!!!

So finally A R Rahman bagged India the most awaited award not one but two.
I am really happy over the victory of fellow Indian. I am overjoyed with the celebrations that Indians are enjoying not only in India but through out the world.

I know the movie Slumdog Millionaire does not exhibit India in the way I would like to show off it to world.........but never the less It does exhibit some gray shades of India which co exist with all other good things in India. I would like to take the story/screenplay of "Slumdog Millionaire" as a pinch of salt .

What is good is that it has got recognition to Indian Music. Indian Lyrics.Indian story .

I was also more than happy to see bollywood style dancing on the Oscars stage. That was a kind of icicng on the cake :)

But when i shared with my fellow Indians back home; some of whom were Tamilians.................they could not help themseleves from boasting that A R Rahman is a tamilian...........now how does that matter to me a north Indian ???????

I never listen to music categorising it according to whether it is composed by north Indian or South Indian. This only forced me to think whether :

1. Will if A R Rahman was from my state had I boasted in same way ?
2. Will Hindus and Muslims back in India also boast it in a different way ?
3.Why after studies of so many years where curricular books repeatedlly teach us that India is a secular country with so many cultures and states and we all Indians are brothers and sisters this feeling of being a hindu or tamilian or marathi etc etc are so strong ?
4.Whom should i Blame for this?our education system ?
5.Which education system the schools, the teachers or parents ?

Anyways.....I hope there are many people in my generation who think alike and soon there will be an India where people will not think which state or which religion do we belong to.

I also hope that in near future we will have a  feeling good Oscar winning movie which will also exhibit India in a very beautiful way :)
